In Memory of Joey Sikkema
Joseph "Joey" Sikkema was a member of the Bay Street Players family for nearly twenty years, and he remains in our hearts after his untimely death in April 2020.
Joey, a trained singer and dancer, made his debut with The State Theatre at a very young age in the leading role of Colin Cravin in our 2003 production of The Secret Garden. He will be remembered for prominent roles in main stage productions over the last two decades including The Full Monty, The Sound of Music, Honk!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Peter Pan, and Spamalot, among many others.
Joey's impact on the local theatre community extends far beyond The State Theatre's walls with participation in productions throughout the region. Together, we will remember Joey as a kind soul who will be missed by all who knew him.
At the request of his family, donations to the The State Theatre can be made in his memory to continue his legacy for years to come.
